I still cannot get enough of my Pink Paislee Vintage Pop stamps! This cute little bird is from the set and I’m about to go and stamp and make another card with another of the images.

This card fits in with Thursday’s Ways to Use It Challenge at SCS which was to use birds.

I stamped the bird with Memento Rich Cocoa on Neenah Solar White and then colored him in with Copics. Then I cut him out and embossed him with a square Nestability and matted him on a Rose Red square and Tempting Turquoise square that were also cut out with Nestabilites. Then I covered him with my Quickie Glue Pen and used Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock on top of him. I love how soft and fuzzy he is! His eye kind of got lost under all the flocking so I added a dot of Cinnamon Stickles over his eye for a tiny bit of bling. The cardbase is Rose Red and the patterned paper is from BasicGrey’s Euphoria line—I looooooooooooove this paper!!!!!! I mounted my focal image on dimensionals and ran a piece of Turquoise Grosgrain ribbon around the card. The sentiment is from my SAB rubons that I’m slowly using over time. Finally, I added some piercing around the edges of the focal piece to frame it even a little more.

Isn’t this cute!!!! I never would have put these colors together but the patterned paper has some really cool colors in it and I think it actually works!

Rockin’ Skull

Ok, I think you’re going to be seeing a lot more of my Pink Paislee Vintage Pop set. I love all the images and they’re so much fun!!!!!

We’ve got a birthday party to attend for the next 3 weekends, plus there’s also a wedding to go to so I’ve got lots of *real* reasons to stamp these days. I made this card for a friend of ds who’s turning 7 and he saw it, liked it, but then told me that his friend likes purple and I need to make him a purple card. So, this may be going to someone else. . .

Here’s the deets: cardbase is Going Gray and other cardstock used is Basic Black, Real Red, & Neenah Solar White. Patterned paper is from the Rock Star Paper Pack by DCWV. Ribbon is from SU’s Jersey Ribbon Originals. The little skull embellishment is some grungeboard that I painted with a silver acrylic paint dauber. Ink used is Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Rocket Red. Other items used include stickles, copics, circle Nestabilities, and Ranger Glossy Accents.

and. . .I have a confession to make. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for the first time ever on this card! I tried to use markers to ink up the sentiment (which is from Verve Visual) but the markers just weren’t working on the acrylic for me and I really wanted the little pop of red. I don’t know what I waited for. The Stamp-a-ma-jig is pretty cool and I may have to break it out a little more. I always felt too lazy to do it but then again, when you see how much crap I pull out to make a card, what’s one more tool?

DD has a birthday party for one of her classmates this Sunday and here’s the card I made. I think it’s perfect for a little boy who’s turning 4, don’t you? I got the cutest stamp set that I’ve been eyeing for awhile at my LSS recently. It’s Pink Paislee’s Vintage Pop and it’s so perfect for kid’s cards. I know I’ll get a lot of use out of this one. I think I may have to start buying more Pink Paislee stuff because it’s so darn cute!!!!

I stamped the dino in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White and colored him in with copics. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s Mixed Messages and is also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. The dino is cut out with oval Nestabilities and then matted on Basic Black and Wild Wasabi which were also cut out with oval Nesties. The cardbase is Wild Wasabi and the patterned paper is from Sassafras Lass. Brads are retired SU Vintage Brads and the ribbon is from one of the SU ribbon originals but I can’t remember which one at this time. The focal image is up on dimensionals. I used a little bit of my black Copic Spica glitter pen on his eye and the little horns on his back–are they horns or what exactly are they called?.

Anyway, it’s late and I need to hit the hay. 2 more days of work until I’m on vacation

I really enjoyed reading all of your responses and I absolutely love summer, especially in the Bay Area. We tend to have Indian Summers here and October is usually a great time to be here. Then again, our weather doesn’t go through extreme fluctuations–I don’t know how those of you who live in those areas do it. I couldn’t deal with snow one day followed by warm weather a few weeks after. I like having one year round wardrobe

3 things I love about summer:
1. Staying outside in the evenings bbqing and watching the kids play
2. Playing in the water
3. Beaches and vacations!

Last eye candy of June 08

Wow, can you believe this month is almost over? I know I forgot you all last week but here you go. I’m really looking forward to The Dark Knight later this summer. I admit I’m a sucker for superhero movies and Batman is such a dark and brooding character. Aaron Eckhart is today’s featured eye candy and he’s playing Too Face in the movie. It looks to be interesting!

Little Monkeys Storage

So, I thought I’d give you an update on the Little Monkeys storage system. I bought a starter kit and extra inserts and sleeves and fell in love! I had to go ahead and get another starter system, more sleeves and inserts, and tabs to help me separate them into categories.

These 2 boxes hold 39 SU stamp sets, 3 MissyB Designs sets, 7 Rubber Romance Stamps (and you know how big those puppies are), a few Bellas with room for more, and other miscellaneous stamps. The majority of my stamps are on regular EZ-Mount but a lot of the sentiments and smaller ones are on the thin EZ-Mount. I’d probably be able to get a few more sleeves and inserts in each box if they were all on the thin EZ-Mount but I don’t see myself switching everything over at this point. All in all, I’m happy that these 2 small boxes hold what was in roughly 50 CD cases!!!!! It’s a definite space savings and I’m really happy with it. At this point, I think I’m only going to use it for rubber stamps and I’ll keep my acrylics in CD cases but I may change my mind over time. I didn’t like the way the acrylic stamps stuck to the sleeve as well as the insert sheet, plus it’s harder to tell what stamp is which. I like being able to pick up the CD case and read the sentiments but since I can’t see through the inserts, it’s not happening here!

I didn’t plan on being home today. My last day of work before vacation is Friday but on the way in, the 6 yo decided to throw up all over himself in the car. . . sigh, the joys of parenthood! He’s engrossed in watching DVDs right now so I’m planning to get some stamping done. I did a little last night and my mojo is missing!
